The Freedom Trial

Whether you go alone or in a group, the Freedom Trail tour is one thing you must not miss. Boston has played some very interesting role in America’s political history, and a trip along the famous Freedom Trail is time well spent on your Boston vacation.

Go on a bike ride

As a solo traveler, you are free to do your own thing and explore the city how you like it. One of the best things that a single traveler can do in Boston is to take a tour of the city on a bicycle. Boston has a number of biker friendly streets that you can explore in a day. If streets are not for you, then go for a long bike ride along the Charles River that gives you the perfect view of the Boston skyline across the river, covering the MIT and Harvard buildings and many beautiful bridges. You can rent a bicycle at any one of the 100 stations of Boston, or just rent a Hubway cycle to indulge in this favorite pastime of Bostonians.

Shopping at the Faneuil Hall Marketplace

If you enjoy shopping, then the Faneuil Hall Marketplace is a must visit. Even if you don’t enjoy shopping so much, a visit to this place is well worth your time. The marketplace is right next to the historical Faneuil Hall and features many stores where you can buy souvenirs for your trip.

Spend a day at a museum

Boston is home to some of the biggest and most interesting museums in the country. If you enjoy art, then a visit to one or some of art museums is a must. The list includes the Museum of Fine Arts, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Institute of Contemporary Art, and Harvard Arts Museum. If you are a science and natural history enthusiast, then take time to visit the Harvard Museum of Natural History, which has a large collection of specimens reflecting the diversity of species on the earth, starting with the dinosaurs, fossil reverberates, bird, fish and mammal fossils and more.

While you may get busy with one or more of the above activities during the day, you must take time to visit one of the popular Boston pubs in the evening and taste the delicious seafood that Boston is so famous for. The city also has a number of restaurants serving other cuisines like Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Indian, and Thai at affordable prices.
