Boston Vacation Guide for Women

Boston may not be an adventurer’s paradise or the place for a luxury holiday. But if you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of your own city or simply want to go someplace for the weekend, then Boston is the perfect spot. Boston is not as big as New York, which also makes it a lot safer than the big city. So if you have been thinking of going away for a few days with your girl friends, Boston is a good idea. But before you go, here are a few tips that can come in handy during your holiday.

Where to Stay

Boston has a number of cheap and fantastic accommodation options that are also safe for women travelling solo or in groups. Among the preferred choices of many women visiting Boston include the Nine Zero hotel, which offers a good package for women travelers. Then there is the Bertram Inn on Sewall Street, which is a cozy B&B in an old Victorian styled home. The place is as charming as can be and safe too. You can also consider the Beechtree Inn located near the Museum of Fine Arts, or the Constitution Inn near the Charlestown Navy Yard, very close to the USS Constitution.

What to Do

For a fun-filled time with your girlfriends, go on a biking tour of the city. Also make sure you go on the Freedom trail tour once during your visit. If you enjoy biking, you can spend all your time in the city riding the rental bike from Hubway. If that is not your cup of tea, then go shopping at the Faneuil Hall Marketplace, one of the most popular tourist destinations of Boston. Then there are the good old museums and other historical destinations that you can visit.

Eat and Drink

Boston has a good number of restaurants serving global and local cuisines to their guests. Chinese, Mexican, Italian, Indian or good old American style food, whatever your choice is, you will find it in this city. Among the places you must try include the Neptune Oyster famous for its lobster roll, Santarpio’s Pizza, the Legal Harborside and No Name that are famous for their seafood and Craigie on Main if you don’t mind splurging on good food.

A girlfriends’ getaway to Boston is not complete without a visit to some of the famous Boston pubs including The Black Rose, Russell House Tavern, The Lansdowne for cheap and free flowing beer, and Matt Murphy’s Pub, the go to place for Boston’s community.

Wherever you choose to drink and eat, and whatever you choose to do, just stay streetwise and you’ll stay safe.
